It's a beautiful time of year, spring has sprung, the Easter weekend set the standard for the weather and our busy tourism season begins. 

With that in mind, I'll keep this short. Take a moment to read through some of the activity our teams have been working on to inspire visitors to come to Fife. From press trips to newly funded events and new and refreshed content for you to share and use within your business - there's so much to shout about.

From the launch of the Fife Pilgrim Way, and the sell-out event Pop In the City in St Andrews to the pinnacle of ladies golfing events - The Solheim Cup - still to come, we have much to look forward to. Keep up-to-date with industry news and successes and together we can shout about the region.

Sarah regularly blogs about fashion, lifestyle, beauty and disability, sharing her experience of traveling with access requirements with her online audience of over 35,000 people.

Ready for your close up?

St Andrews featured as part of our latest #ScotlandIsNow TV advert in a £300,000 marketing burst to inspire potential visitors to discover Scotland’s breathtaking beauty, rich history and welcoming people.

Live for three weeks, three adverts ran across Channel 4, STV, ITV and other regional outputs targeting northern England, London and the south east reaching 11.3 million adults and viewed 36.7 million times.

Over 200 businesses from across Tay Country attended the first ever Tay Cities Tourism Conference. Businesses heard about the Tay Cities Regional Tourism Strategy and the three themes emerging from the draft strategy - design, food and adventure. Businesses across the regions are being encouraged to share updates, successes and developments that will benefit tourism across the region using #GrowTaygether.

Stay a wee bit longer

Our Stay a wee bit longer in Scotland is the ultimate online guide to Scotland's itineraries. With trip ideas from one to 14 days and a range of activities - its hard not to want to stay a little longer. Featured within the guide is our driving and road trip itinerary '7 days in the east'. This seven day driving route covers 396 miles and explores Fife and St Andrews taking in many local attractions along the way.

Shh... it's a secret 

Our ongoing campaign with Secret Escapes includes a webpage of rich content to inspire visitors to come to Scotland in spring. Visitors are encouraged to explore Scotland under the themes of escape, adventure and culture. Land yachting on West Sands beach and exploring the Fife Coastal Path are both featured. The webpage has received over 40,000 visits to date.

Funding for Fife event

St. Andrews Voices - a unique four day Scottish festival devoted to vocal and choral music in Fife has received a funding award of £10,000 from our EventScotland team. Funding supports the addition of a new partnership with light projection artists Luxmuralis, who will create an immersive voice and light event which will take over iconic buildings across St Andrews.

Promoting Fife to millions

Did you miss Fife on Channels 5's Secret Scotland? Not to worry, you can watch it on catch up. Episode one, series one is titled Edinburgh and features Fife. Our PR team supported the documentary which featured West Sands Beach, Hickory golf, St Andrews and Cromar’s Fish and Chip Shop, reaching 1.4 million people.

The Tourism Industry Barometer for Q1 2019 is live until 20 May. In order to generate invaluable information for Fife please participate in the survey and encourage your industry peers to also.

We hosted our first Insta Meet in Fife this month in partnership with Fife Council. Follow #vsinstameet and view Fife through the eyes of the influencer lens.

On Sunday (12 April) we revealed our stunning  Oor Wullie design as part of this years big bucket trail. Oor Nevis was unwrapped with a crowd of onlookers at the summit of Scotland’s highest munro - Ben Nevis. Meet Oor Nevis.
